Spinal Cord Injury Network – striving for best outcomes
Dr Stanford is currently chair of the board of the Spinal Cord Injury Network which is an organisation dedicated to improving outcomes for people with spinal cord injury. The Network brings together a wide range of experts to enhance research through collaboration and provision of grants and scholarships. With its national approach, the Network engages researchers, clinicians and the community in order to focus efforts on what is relevant for those living with spinal cord injury.
Spinal Injury Database
The main project of the Spinal Network is to establish a national database of spinal cord injury that not only describes injury and hospital management but more importantly how people live with spinal cord injury. The goal is to enable research to be undertaken that achieves best outcomes and avoids complications that would otherwise interfere with the lives of people with SCI.
